Flood devastates Khangabok farms

Imphal, July 13: The United Development Association has claimed that over 50,000 pari of agricultural land in Khangabok Part 1, 2 and 3 have been submerged at the moment in a devastating flood that had never been experienced in the area. In addition to the agricultural land 50-60 numbers of fish farms and residential areas have also been affected by the floodwater. Even after the water levels in rivers have normalized the water overflowing from Ikop Pat have resulted in inundation of vast areas in Salam Loukol, Angom Loukol, Kiyam Loukol, Bihu Loukol, Louonbi Loukol, Maning Luokol, Thong Makha Loukol, Leipao Loukol, Umurou Loukol, Loukhongpao Loukol, Shaniro Loukol and Khunlakpam Mamang Loukol among others, the association stated in a press release. It has called the attention of concerned authorities to the plights of the people in the affected area and sought intervention.
