Flag hoisting ceremony of “Salai Taret Firal” held at Purum Khullen to promote unity and peace

A flag hoisting ceremony for “Salai Taret Firal” was held today at Wanderland Adventure Park & Camping, Purum Khullen, in Imphal East, marking an effort to promote unity, progress, and the aspiration for a peaceful new chapter in Manipur.
The event was organised at the hilltop adventure site in Purum Khullen with the objective of bringing together community leaders, cultural representatives, and the local populace to reaffirm collective harmony. The programme was hosted by Sapamcha Jadumani, president of the Federation of Haomee, and Vidyapati Senjam, also known as Wakhal Lamjingba, vice president of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB).
Dr. Kangabam Romeo Meetei, secretary of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation North East Zone and a Guinness World Record holder, attended the ceremony as a special dignitary. He highlighted the significance of blending cultural identity with youth-driven initiatives for peacebuilding.
Village chief of Purum Khullen, Sh. David Purum, who also serves as general secretary of the Federation of Haomee, was present and lauded the organisers for choosing Purum Khullen as the venue, noting its symbolic value as a place of natural beauty and community strength.
Organisers stated that “Salai Taret Firal” represents a collective call for unity among the seven clans and serves as a reminder of shared heritage, cultural resilience, and the commitment to peaceful coexistence. The ceremony concluded with prayers for harmony and renewed hope for stability in the state.
