First randomisation of EVMs and Vvpats on EVM Management System conducted

As part of the continuous preparation for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha, General Election, 2024, the First Randomization of EVMs and VVPATs on EVM Management System (EMS 2.0) was successfully conducted under the supervision of the District Election Officer/Deputy commissioner, Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar, at the conference hall of DC complex Chandel yesterday.
Besides representatives from recognised political parties operating within the district, the event was attended by ADC, Chandel, Md. Firoj khan , SDO Chandel Pritam, SDO Chakpikarong, SDO Khengjoy, other DLOs who are the Nodal officers of different sectors
While speaking to the media person, on the sideline of the event, the District Election Officer informed that for the 80 polling stations in the district, the CEO office had provided 178 control unit (CU), 141 Ballot units (BU) and 142-VVPAT, of which five percent were kept for training purposes and randomization were done for the remaining. The DEO/DC also mentioned that the randomization was done in the presence of media persons and the representatives of the political parties to ensure transparency and fairness.
It may also be mentioned that the randomization for the same, for the Tengnoupal 42, were also done at the same venue under the supervision of the Tengnoupal DEO/DC, Krishna Kumar along with the Nodal officers of the district.
