First FOGSI East Zonal Conference with YUVA 2023 started at RIMS

For the first time in Manipur under the aegis of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), the Imphal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (IOGS), Imphal organized a three-day long i.e. (22nd to 24th Dec., 2023) FOGSI East Zonal Conference with YUVA 2023 today at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (RIMS). The first day of FOGSI conference concludes with four various workshops viz:- Training of Life Saving Skills in the Medical Management of PPH for Obgyns initiated by Safe Motherhood Committee (FOGSI) in Collaboration with Maternal and Perinatal Committee (SAFOG) at Sushruta Hall, RIMS, Imphal; Workshop on Research Training for doctors students at Jubilee Conference Hall, RIMS, Imphal; Workshop on Key Hole surgery in women at ACME Hospital, Imphal and Workshop on Preventive Oncology for women at JNIMS Hospital, Imphal.
Dr. Rishikesh Pai, President, FOGSI, Mumbai, Dr. Alka Pandey, Vice President (East) FOGSI, Patna and Dr. Madhuri Patel, Secretary General, FOGSI, Mumbai respectively inaugurated the workshop session on the first day of FOGSI East Zonal Conference with YUVA 2023. Dr Rameswar Singh, Prof. & HOD, Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. R.K Praneshwari Devi, Prof. Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. K. Pratima Devi, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. L. Trinity Meetei, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, staff and students also attended the inaugural session of the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pratima Devi stated that to reduce the mortality and morbidity for maternal women, training is highly needed for Gynaecologist doctors in the management of PPH for obgyns so that they can protect and serve the women of our state better. Further, Dr. Rishikesh Pai, President, of FOGSI, Mumbai mentioned that the society has crossed over 60 years having a total of 270 societies with 41,000 members. FOGSI is the largest association of gynaecologists in the country which works both in central and state government projects as well as in the private sector. During his presidential years, he attended 33 conferences all over India. This is the first FOGSI conference held at Manipur and also the last and most important conference of this year. Lastly, he appreciated the organizers for systematically organizing the conference despite all the hurdles.
