A devastating fire broke out yesterday around 6:30 pm at Emoinu Market Mini Shopping Mall, including a mobile phone shop, located at Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar under Kakching Police Station in Kakching district.
Teams from the Kakching Fire Brigade and Mayang Imphal Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and battled the blaze, taking more than an hour to bring the flames under control. A team of Kakching District Police, led by the Officer-in-Charge of Kakching Police Station, Inspector Ph. Priyobrata, also joined the operation and assisted in controlling the fire.
Preliminary assessment suggests that goods worth approximately Rs. 41.75 lakh, belonging to several shops inside the mall, were completely destroyed in the incident.
