Financial support to Self Help Groups will enhance economic empowerment of women: Minister Ranjan

Minister, Health & FW and Information & Public Relations (IPR) Dr. S. Ranjan Singh has expressed that giving financial support to Self Help Groups will enhance the economic empowerment of women. It is also a way towards bringing financial discipline in society.
Minister was speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion of the First Foundation Day of the Lamjing Meira Village Level Federation (VLF) held at Loyalakpa Community Hall, Khaidem, Imphal West today. He maintained that we all need to have financial discipline. Self Help Group occupies a popular place in India. Its popularity has been gaining momentum. Women of the state play an important role in improving the economy of the state. The banks in the state should not hesitate to provide financial help to the SHGs, he added.
Ranjan continued that the Government is for the welfare of the people. Mutual cooperation is required to bring a positive change in the society. We need to act according to the prevailing scenario. The Government has launched the War Against Drugs with the objective to save our future generations.
He informed that the Government does not cease to take up welfare and development works in the state even during the crisis period. Public should be aware of those benefits which are introduced to the interest of the people. Minister also said that with the increasing number of new COVID cases in some Southern states, the State Health Department is gearing up for preventive care.
