Film Forum Manipur condemn assault to Epu; staged protest

Chairman of Film Forum Manipur, Laimayum Surjakanta today questioned the reason for assaulting Mayanglangbam Raghumani alias Epu and left him nearly to death.
 “ Why was he brutally assaulted nearly to death?”, Surjakanta asked and said that  whoever did the crime was strongly condemnable and culprits should be produced within the seven days and punished as according to the law of the land,
Film Forum Manipur is conducting series of sit-in protest at different places since Epu was found brutally assaulted by unknown persons. The protest was staged today at Singjamei Super Market. 
Speaking to this reporter, Surjakanta said that that they will submit a memorandum to Chief Minister later in evening demanding medical expenses for the victim who is struggling from injuries at hospital. Surjakanta also urged the government to provide proper security Forum’s member as various unlawful organizations often targeted them. He said the Forum still is under threat from a specific underground group after failing to pay monetary demand served to the forum.
