Fierce encounter took place between personnel of 44 AR and suspected cadres of the proscribed militant group, People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) this morning near Napisha of Ukhrul District.
Sources said that the gun battle took place at around 07.00 am somewhere between Napisha and Khangpat of Ukhrul district. However, the details of casualties on both the sides are not known.
Meanwhile, PREPAK PRO has claimed responsibility of the attack. Speaking through phone, one publicity secretary of the outfit Mellei said that two of AR personnel were injured in the attack.
