FEGOCTA sincerely hopes that there will be a positive transformation in the education sector particularly in North East India and Manipur. Dr Ranjan’s long career and experiences in the field of higher education will be a great help in his new responsibility and future endeavours. Education and foreign policy are the critical areas in the globalised era for North East India which is facing challenges in the education sector and foreign relations. The region is almost surrounded by the five neighbouring countries of Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, Bhutan and Nepal. There should be serious efforts to resolve old issues and improve relations with the neighbouring countries as well as ASEAN countries.
