Federation of Government College Teachers’ Associations, Manipur (FEGOCTA) today in a press statement appeals to the state government and High Court of Manipur to expedite actions on the long pending issues and cases of the government college teachers.
The press statement signed by Dr. N. Somorendro Singh, general secretary, FEGOCTA, said that it is committed to maintain peaceful academic atmosphere and advancement of the careers of the student.
While appealing to the Chief Minister of the state to resolve the issue of SCA and TA of the college teachers soon it also hopes that High Court of Manipur deliver justice and to uphold the Rule of Law and Constitution. It said that the two writ petitions supported by the association are pending in the High Court. However in case the High Court continues to deny justice by repeated adjournments without valid reasons, FEGOCTA may compel to take up the matter with the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India.
It added that FEGOCTA has been in the forefront demanding to appoint the regular college Principals, regular librarians and non-teaching staff, to implement UGC Regulations, 2010, to constitute State Higher Education Service, increase budget allocation to higher education and GPF ceiling up Rs. 1.78 crore.
