FDO named authorised dealer for PM Surya Ghar Scheme in Manipur

Imphal-based Future Development Organisation (FDO) has been appointed as the authorised dealer of Sun Shakti & Natural Private Limited for implementing the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Manipur.

The authorisation certificate was handed over by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohammad Abdullah Chatwal, to L. Dhanaraj, Marketing Project Director of Sun Shakti NorthEast and representative of FDO, during a function held at Naoremthong.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Chatwal said the initiative aims to facilitate the effective implementation of the Centre’s flagship rooftop solar scheme in the state. Under the programme, households installing rooftop solar systems can receive up to 300 units of free electricity per month and are eligible for a one-time subsidy of up to 60 per cent of the installation cost.

He said the scheme would help reduce electricity expenses, generate employment opportunities and promote environmental sustainability through the use of clean energy. Households producing surplus electricity may also earn additional income through power purchase agreements with the government.

The company offers various solar energy solutions, including solar inverters, hybrid systems, solar water pumps, off-grid and on-grid systems.

FDO also announced plans to conduct surveys for the establishment of electric vehicle charging stations at selected locations in Imphal.
