Higher studies students of the state under the Manipur University is in dire straits as Manipur University is in stalemate unable to function properly since the last couple of days with students’ body of the University MUSU stand firm to their demand with no turning back to the agitation.
A press statement signed by 5 executive members of the Manipur University Students’ Union today said that the Union will not allow holding examination scheduled tomorrow.
Different press statement released to media houses from two different executive members of the MUSU had created confusion with one statement stating to allow the examination and other to boycott it.
The press statement issued today signed by MUSU President M Dayaman Singh, General Secretary L. Kenedy Singh, Culture Secretary L. Robindro, Finance Secretary S. Anish Singh and Sports Secretary Nilakanta Longjam stated that due to communication gap between the executive members of the Union there has been some misunderstanding.
The statement said that the Union have decided not to allow conducting examination scheduled tomorrow.
On the other hand the MUSU today stick paper at the door of the Prof. Arun Sexena stating “indefinitely closed”. PRO of the University and the Dean of Students Welfare have already resigned as per source but Prof. Saxena whom the students demand for resignation of from the different post he hold and to return back to his Earth Science department.
Whether or not the University authority will force to conduct the examination or not is a matter to be decided by the Manipur University authority. But the situation will not let free mind to the students appearing the exam if in case conducted by force.
Meanwhile, source with the Imphal Times said that normal functioning of the Manipur University have been severely disrupted by the ongoing impasse in the Manipur University during the last couple of days. It is likely that the examination result for the B.A, B.Sc and B. Com Final year conducted by the Manipur University may be delayed and because of that students desiring to go for Master degree outside the state at other University may miss their chances.
On the other hand all works in the A-Block of the University has been paralyse with the ongoing impasse with no students allowing to either collect documents which were required for either applying for job or any related matters.
