Fasting month of Ramadan begins

The fasting month of Ramazan has begun across the country today.
The worshippers thronged mosques last night, as soon as the sighting of moon was announced, to offer special night prayers called “Traweeh”, which will continue throughout the month.
Ramazan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar and Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the culmination of this month.
In Gulf countries also, today is the first day of holy month of Ramazan.
