Farmers’ Field Day on Scientific Broccoli Cultivation held at Andro under NEC Project

A farmers’ field day on the scientific cultivation of broccoli variety Green Magic was organised at Andro, Khampokpi in Imphal East district under the North Eastern Council–supported project on Integrated Farming System Model demonstration for sustainable economics and livelihood.
The programme was implemented by the Directorate of Extension Education in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra Imphal East. During the field day, successful broccoli cultivation practices were demonstrated to participating farmers and farm women, who observed the outcomes of the scientific production methods adopted under the project.
The event was attended by Professor Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, as the Chief Guest, while Doctor I Bhupenchandra, Deputy Director of Extension Education, attended as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Professor Ph Ranjit Sharma encouraged farmers to adopt scientific cultivation practices to achieve better productivity and income. He also spoke on the importance of selecting recommended and suitable crop varieties for successful vegetable cultivation.
Doctor Y Prabhabati Devi, Head and Senior Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Imphal East, expressed appreciation to the farmers for their active participation and efforts in successfully implementing the demonstration under the project. She said the field day reflected the potential of scientific farming practices in improving farm sustainability and livelihoods in the region.
