Exposure Visit Organised

As a part of Skill Training of Rural Youth on Vermicomposting, an exposure visit was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel.
Dr. K. Sonamani Singh, ACTO (SWCW) led the team of 32 rural youths from Chandel to several units and farms in which vermicomposting activities are being taken up in massive scale.
The participants witnessed the hands-on demonstration of minute details and steps of turning waste into resource. Later the highly motivated and inspired youths were shown plots of vegetable farms which were benefitted by the vermicompost and were totally organic.
The youths were made aware of the need to stop the bad habit of straw burning in the fields after harvesting of paddy. The youths were shown the probable avenue of revenue generation through the sale of vermicompost manure.
