Excise Department seizes liquor ahead of Hiyanglam by poll

Excise department today seized 194 litres of local and three boxes of Indian Made Foreign Liquors from various localities of Hiyanglam in a drive conducted ahead of the forthcoming Hiyanglam by-poll.Sources said that the drive which was a part of measures taken up to prevent from any untoward incident in the forthcoming by poll was conduct by the personnel of Kakching Excise Station and Sugnu Excise Department.The seized liquors were burnt in front of media persons at the office of Kakching Excise Station.Speaking to media persons PK Singh, OC Kakching Excise Station the drive was conducted at various localities of Hiyanglam A/C namely, Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai, Hiyanglam Makha Leikai, Hiranmei, Wabagai Bazar, Lamjao, Langmeidong, Thongjao and Waikhong under the supervision of MD. Nasir, DSP, Thoubal Excise Station. Similar kind of drives will be conducted in the Assembly Constituency till the poll day.
