Ex Congress Corporator Deva Usare killed in Nagpur

Former Congress Corporator Deva Usare (54) of Gaddi Godam area of Nagpur, was killed by two youth by hacking him with an axe and a knife, near Bharat Talkies on Sunday morning. He is survived by wife, two children, two brothers and other family members. 
The assailants, were staying in a rented room provided by Usare. There was a long standing dispute between them, since Usare wanted them to vacate the room. 
The incident occurred when Usare had gone to a tea stall near Bharat Talkies at about 7.30 AM. As usual, he reached the tea stall on his mobike. As he was parking his mobile, the assailants emerged from behind and began attacking him. Even before he could realize what was happening, the assailants inflicted grievous injuries upon him. 
Soon after the incident, the local people informed the police control room. The police shifted Usare, who was lying in a pool of blood, to the Mayo Government hospital. However he was declared dead before admission. 
The sadar police have registered an offence of murder and have launched a hunt to nab the absconding assailants. 
Usare had won the election to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation twice. In the first term, he had defeated former Mayor Rajesh Tambe. He was known as a “pehalwan” in the area and was also stated to be having a criminal history. 
Soon after the incident Congress MLA Vikas Thakre and other Congress workers rushed to the hospital where a post mortem was being carried out.
