Encroachers over Senapati River evicted

Imphal, April 28: Showing serious concern over the rising level of pollution in Senapati River, the district administration under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Lazarus Jacintha today evicted encroachers. Structures built on the rivers including toilet, pig sty etc were dismantled in the presence of the DC, SDC and ADC members of Senapati district. Interestingly the cleaning of the river was initiated by Senapati District Students’ Association and the initiative was supported by the District administration to keep the environment free from pollution.
The district administration had served eviction order to all the encroachers to the government land a week ago.
