In connection with the ensuing state assembly Election, 2022, Election Observers of State Assembly Election 2022, for 41- Chandel (ST) and 42-Tengnoupal (ST), Yogesh Kumar, IAS- General Observer, Sivasankaran Pattanam Singaram, IRS- Expenditure Observer and Gaurav Singh, IPS- Police observer, took stock of poll preparedness in Chandel & Tengnoupal Districts yesterday.
The Observers (General/Police/Expenditure) had an interactive session with District Election Officers (DEO) Chandel, DC Tengnoupal, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chandel and Tengnoupal, ROs, AROs and all the other Nodal Officers at the conference Hall, DC complex, Chandel. During the meeting the DEO/DC Chandel, Rajkumar apprised the observers regarding the preparations being taken up for the forthcoming Assembly election.
It can be mentioned that it has already been notified that the Election Observers will be staying at 26th sector, Assam Rifle, Pallel, 795137. The General observer will stay till 10th March, 2022 and the Police observer and the Expenditure observer will stay till the poll day on 5th March 2022. It had further been informed that the Observers may be reached at the phone numbers provided against their names and any public, who intends to meet the concern Observers may visit at the time and place, indicated against their names as mentioned in the notification on all working days.
On the other hand till the end of the last day of filing nomination papers on 11.02.2022, a total of eleven candidates, four (4) for 41- Chandel and Seven (7) for 42-Tengnoupal had filed their papers. The nominated candidates for 41- Chandel (ST) include one BJP, one NPP, and two from NPF whereas for 42- Tengnoupal (ST) , one BJP, one NPF, one NPP, one RPI, one INC, and two independent candidates have filed their nominations. Here it can be mentioned that the scrutiny of nominations will be done on 14.02.2022 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is on 16.02.2022, as already notified by the CEO, Manipur.
