Education Sector A Top Priority: Minister Rajen

Education Minister S. Rajen Singh has said that education sector should be given priority. He explained that without education the society will move backward.
Minister Rajen was speaking at the inaugural function of the newly constructed (3) ACR and toilet block of Heibongpokpi High School, today. He said that the problem for the shortage of teachers in Government schools will be solved very soon.
He said that the government has understood about the shortage of subject teachers in government schools and colleges. The process of recruiting more than nine hundred (900) Arts and Science Graduate teachers, more than four hundred forty four (400) Hindi graduate and undergraduate teachers will be completed soon. This will help to solve the existing problem of shortage of teachers in schools, he added.
Minister said that in terms of facilities and qualification, the government school teachers are far ahead of private school teachers. The government school teachers should understand their duty and be sincere to their service in order to bring quality education to society. Lamsang Praja High School will also be upgraded to Higher Secondary status in the next academic session, he added.
He said that drinking water will be provided to all households in the Lamsang Assembly Constituency within a few months. Ten numbers of water supply schemes have been taken up under Jan Jeevan Mission in the constituency. Under NEDP scheme water supply schemes is also initiated, the minister added.
Education Commissioner, Schools, Shri T. Ranjit Singh, IAS, graced the occasion as president. An exhibition football match was also played as a part of the inaugural function.
