Education Minister praised young NCC cadets on 70th NCC Day celebration

Imphal Nov 26: Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh congratulated the young National Cadet Corps (NCC), cadets on the auspicious occasion of the 70th NCC Day Celebration 2017 for their constant contribution towards the nation. He said nation building is a holistic approach of ideas, action and future planning.

Relevance, he explained is the utilization of the knowledge, training and skills obtained for the betterment of the present and future. For this one must know the past, live in the present and think about the future. Therefore it is a must that one remains relevant all the time, he added.

Elaborating on the importance of NCC, he said it provides a platform for the young cadets to develop. The training camps of the NCC are a big opportunity to meet, interact and learn new things from one another. An NCC Cadet should learn character building, team work, and leadership and become a good human being.

Highlighting the issue of the Associated NCC Officers (ANO) transfer and posting, he said it is part of an employee’s life thus one has to part and meet again, but assured that a policy will be in place soon. At the same time the Associated NCC Officers can utilize an assistant from among juniors so that the juniors may fill in when the ANO who are teachers appointed at the government schools are transferred from the school. He also said he will extend all his support to their concerns and expectations. 

On regards of hangar he said it would be tried to accomplish the facility as soon as possible at the Imphal International Airport for the better training of the Air Wing and even to introduce to the civilians.

The celebration was attended by the Group Commander, NCC (HQ), Imphal, Brig. Vivek Sharma, Chairman, MPSC Lt. Gen. K. Himalay, Founder Trustee & Chief Functionary of DJW Trust, Manipur Dr. Jamini Devi, officials of NCC and cadets. The observation was organized by All Manipur NCC Officers’ Welfare Association Manipur at the NCC Campus D. M. College, Imphal
