Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam today chaired a meeting to review the work progress for constituting task force and to decide further course of action for fully comprehending the National Education Policy (NEP) and implementing the policy. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall, Samagra Shiksha, Babupara.
At the outset of the meeting, Commissioner, Hr. & Technical Education/SCERT, M. Harekrishna apprised the Minister on the tentative list of persons to be nominated as members of the Task Force in respect of the Higher & Technical Education Department and SCERT. Commissioner, Education-S and Adult Education, T. Ranjit Singh also expressed that creation of Task Force for the State is the most important step for expediting implementation of NEP.
The Task Force will constitute 25 – 30 members drawn from experts, educationists, educational enthusiasts, social workers, prominent individuals in the field of Sports, Art & Culture, Dance, among others and should consists of representatives nominated by SCERT, Department of Education-S, Department of Higher & Technical Education, BoSEM, CoHSEM and also representatives or nominees of Departments of Health, Social Welfare and TA & Hills.
