DSWO I/W snatches diary from reporter, refuses to give information sought by Imphal Times reporter

In a case of highhandedness of government official, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) of Imphal West District, identified as one Binod, who attended function refused to reply to the question asked by reporter of this newspaper. Despite of paying attention to the queries of the reporter regarding the details of the training program, the DSWO even questioned about the identity as well as name of the media house of the reporter in a belittling manner.
On top of it, he even snatched the reporter’s dairy from the deputed journalist of Imphal Times to write down something on it as if the reporter is illiterate and unable to jot down notes about the inaugural function of a weaving and embroidery training center and name of the organizer- Manipur State Women Development Corporation or the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
Seeing his attitude and response towards a media person, the reporter of this daily has politely submitted the officer about the courtesy shown by him and returned from the spot without taking the details of the program from the DSWO.
