Drugs worth Rs 5 crores seized

Modi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) along with Manipur Police seized narcotics from Bongmol village, Tengnoupal District yesterday.
Based on specific intelligence input, Mobile Vehicle Check Post near Bongmol village intercepted a white color Bolero. The vehicle was moving from Sita village towards Bongmol village.
On a thorough search of the vehicle, troops of Assam Rifles recovered suspected WIY tablets in 10 yellow plastic bundles well concealed in the oil tank of the vehicle. The seized narcotics weighed 11.755 kgs and were assessed to be worth approximately Rs 5 Crores in the international market.
The drug peddler along with the seized narcotics was handed over to Machi Police Station for further investigation.
