Drugs and Ammunition seized

A team of Lilong PS under the supervision of K.Sunderbala Devi, MPS(P), OC Lilong PS seized Cough syrups while conducting frisking at Lilong Turel Ahanbi yesterday night, a press statement by SP Thoubal District Dr.S. Ibomcha Singh said.

One A-star car green in colour was detained and the two occupants of the car were detained on suspicion. 7 numbers of Cough Syrup bottles (Codeine Phosphate 10%) were recovered. The two detained were identified as Md. Abdul Gaffar (27 yrs) S/o. Suleima, Lilong Ushoipokpi Tamyai and Md. Hassan (25 yrs) S/o. Md. Abdul Gaffar of Lilong Ushoipokpi and the two disclosed that the cough syrup were purchased from one Md. Riyajuddin (40 yrs) S/o. (L) Md. Serajuddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi.

On receiving this information, O.C. Lilong P.S. assisted by members of ALADA, Lilong rushed to Lilong Turel Ahanbi and raided the house of Md. Riyajuddin and 57 numbers of Cough syrup were recovered. Md. Riyajuddin disclosed that the cough syrup was purchased from one Md. Abdul Rajak of Porompat Muslim Leirak No.2.

SP Ibomcha further said that as a  follow up action to the input received, M. Bishworjit Singh, MPS, SDPO, Thoubal, K. Sunderbala Devi, O. Ajit singh, Regular O.C. Lilong P.S. and two teams of Narcotics Cell, Imphal East rushed to Porompat and raided the house of Md. Abdul Razak and recovered 3980 SP capsules, 150 N-10 tablets, 45 bottles of cough syrup, one 32 Revolver along with 6 live rounds of 32 ammunitions, 1 SBBL gun, a sum of Rs. 5,54,700/- and two mobile phones. Md. Abdul disclosed that he deals in supplying drugs. They were arrested at 12:30 am and 9 am today.
