Imphal, Feb 21: Combined team of Manipur Police Commandos from Kaching district and Thoubal district nabbed a drug peddler from Sora area in Kakching district during a search operation at the area.
Interesting some locals of the area pelted stones towards the police team to resist them from picking up the drug peddler.
Report said that, Police Commando team conducted a cordoned and search operation at Sora area in Kakching districtat around 4 am today morning. The search operation lasted till 6.30 am. During the search operation a person identified as MD. Angou of Sora Maning Liekai was rounded up along with 2800 SP capsules wrapped in two plastic bags. The police team also seized 11 cell phone handsets from his possession.
Soon after the news of his arrest, some locals of the area started pelting stones toward the police team to resist the police team from arresting the drug peddler.
The report said that some of the police personnel were injured in the stone attack and some vehicles of the police too were damage.
