Imphal, Nov 28: Volunteers of the Awang Chaokhong Development Club (ACDC), North AOC, Imphal and 1st IRB personnel posted at Kangla Northern Gate today caught one drug peddler along with some Heroin (no. 4) and syringe from North AOC opposite of Classic Hotel at around 1:40 pm.
The drug dealers have been identified as Laishram (O) Geeta, aged 50, wife of (L) Laishram Ajit from Komlakhong.
The irate local volunteers cut her hair as punishment and released after warning her not repeat it again.
According to the president of the club Ramthar Keishing, the lady caught today not only supply heroin but she herself is also a drug user.
“She was caught many times and handed over to police for using and dealing with drugs but she keep repeating it”, Ramthar Keishing said.
This time, she has agreed to accept any form of punishment if caught again, he added.
According to Geeta, she bought the drug from a person known as one Md Ibungo of Komlakhong at Rs 2500 to use it for herself and also to sell.
Along with the drugs , 46 pieces of Heroin (No. 4) and 16 pieces of syringe was also seized from Geeta. All those seized articles along with the drugs were burnt in public.
