Dr. RK. Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble MP, Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, Manipur and Member, Central Council of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India inspected the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal today to review the current COVID-19 care measures undertaken and facilities at RIMS, Imphal. An interaction program was held at the Jubilee Hall, RIMS, Imphal along with the faculty members and officials of the institute in presence of Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director, RIMS and Prof. H. Priyosakhi Devi, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director, RIMS briefed the Hon’ble MP Dr. RK. Ranjan Singh the various steps being taken up in the hospital to fight COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. H. Priyosakhi Devi, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital briefed the Hon’ble MP the hardship faced by the hospital in dealing with the treatment of COVID-19 positive patients. The Hon’ble MP assured that he will appraise the ministry about its requirements.
The Hon’ble MP also advised to submit a proposal to the ministry to have a separate Infectious Disease Treatment Centre and an Eye Bank for the institute and also to constitute a Board to look after the expansion of the institute in the future.
