DMU students lock Administrative Blocks and Colleges

IT News
Imphal, Jan 19:

Students of Dhanamanjuri University and the five affiliated colleges have locked the administrative blocks of the university and colleges today. This action has been taken due to the failure to issue election notifications for the university and college student unions.
On January 15, 2024, students from DMU and its affiliated colleges – DM College of Arts, DM College of Science, DM College of Commerce, GP Women’s College, and LMS Law College – met with the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the university. During the meeting, they set an ultimatum for the issuance of election notifications for the student bodies of the university and colleges. The students also threatened to shut down the colleges and universities if the authority failed to issue the election notification.
“We set a deadline during our meeting with the VC and the registrar for the issuance of the election notification today. Since the DMU authority has ignored our request, we, the students, have no choice but to shut down the administrative blocks and the affiliated colleges,” a student leader told the media.
