DMCC pay tribute to 13 brave Indian security personnel on R-Day

The Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) observed January 26, 2025, by paying tribute to 13 brave Indian security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty during violent incidents attributed to Kuki militants and mercenaries since May 3, 2023. The DMCC remembered these soldiers for their dedication and sacrifice, condemning the acts of violence perpetrated in pursuit of a separatist agenda under the guise of “Kukiland” or “Separate Administration.”
The DMCC acknowledged the courage of the fallen soldiers and extended heartfelt condolences to their families. The soldiers who were honored are as follows: Ashok Rao, Assam Rifles – May 16, 2023; Arup Saint, CRPF – April 26, 2024; N. Sarkar, CRPF – April 26, 2024; M. Jiten, Manipur Police – May 11, 2023; Narendra Kumar, BSF – May 26, 2023; Nay Kumar Jha, CRPF – July 14, 2024; W. Somorjit, Manipur Rifles – January 17, 2023; T. Saiteshor, Manipur Rifles – January 17, 2023; Chingtham Maid, SDPO, Manipur Police – October 31, 2013; Th. Kiran Singh, Manipur Police – May 28, 2023; Ranjit Yadav, BSF – June 5, 2023; T. Rishikumar, Manipur Rifles – July 3, 2023; P. Randir, Manipur Police – July 3, 2023.
The committee condemned the violent actions of Kuki militants and mercenaries, describing them as inhumane and contrary to democratic values. The DMCC stated that resorting to violence and terrorism to advance separatist demands was an affront to peace and harmony. They emphasized that such actions undermine the principles of coexistence and democracy, urging individuals and stakeholders to denounce these heinous acts.
The DMCC reaffirmed its stance against divisive ideologies and called for collective action to reject violence as a means to achieve political ends. The committee highlighted the need to uphold the unity and pluralism of India, stressing that acts of terror cannot be justified under any circumstances.
The DMCC also expressed its solidarity with the families of the fallen soldiers, recognizing their immense loss and the courage of the soldiers who gave their lives for the nation’s safety and security. The organization reiterated its commitment to honoring the memory of these brave individuals and ensuring that justice is served.
