District Magistrate orders to deposit license guns

District Magistrate of Imphal west has notified to deposit license guns to their respective police station at the earliest in the interest of maintaining law and orders in the context of the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly General Election 2022.
This is perhaps the first time that license guns are ordered to submit to the police station before the enforcement of the model code of conduct. The measures have been taken up in view of the series of election-related violence that has occurred at some of the Assembly constituencies. Following the series of election campaign-related violence at which some persons even use licensed gun injuring some others, the Chief Minister of Manipur, who is in charge of home had appealed to deposit the licensed gun to their respective police station.
The district administration Thoubal had also notified to deposit the licensed gun at their respective police stations.
