District Health Society (DHS) Chandel organized a one day District level Health Mela under National Health Mission at Khambathel Government Primary School, Khambathel Village in Chandel District today.Robert Kshetrimayum Singh, DC/Chairman DHS Chandel; Nl. Belong, President of Western Valley Chiefs’ Association and Dr. Romy Ngoruh, Chief Medical Officer Chandel graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively. During the Health Mela, 12 doctors examined the patients in General Medicine, Pediatric, Gynecology, and Dental. Apart from providing medicines free of cost, a Laboratory test, X-ray, Ultrasound, immunization facilities were also provided free of cost in the Health Mela.
Several villagers of Khambathel and its surrounding villages availed the health care facilities during the Health Mela in which ASHA’s, ANM’s, and other paramedical staff of District Health Society, Chandel also took part.
