The Civil Society Organisations of Jiribam and Tamenglong districts agreed to keep intact and follow government land records regarding the boundary issues of the two neighbouring districts.
The progress of the decision on the Civil Society Organisations level had taken place at the meeting held on April 05, 2023, after the outburst confrontation between two groups over fixing a signboard in Khedargar Gaidunglong Village, Tamenglong District, Tousem Sub -Division at erstwhile Nunkhal and Leisabithol villages.
The meeting was attended by Rongmei Naga Student Organisation Manipur (RNSOM), Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) along with different student bodies – AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, and IPSA Jiribam branch.
The meeting of both sides agreed that the disputed district boundary of Jiribam -Tamenglong will keep intact according to government land records at present.
They also resolved the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of both districts ( Jiri- Tamenglong) as earliest so as to ensure the district boundary and prevent boundary disputes.
The student bodies and CSOs of Jiribam -Tamenglong also sought special government attention in resolving the boundary dispute.
