Discussion on Food Security Act

A one day discussion programme on Food Security Act and its impact to Farmers with reference to the state of Manipur was held today at the auditorium of the Institute of Co-operative Management, Lamphelpat.  The one day discussion programme attended by farmers and experts in the field was organised by the All Manipur Progressive Farmers’ Association.
Resource persons who spoke on the occasion expressed apprehension about farmers opting for some other profession as cultivation is no more considered a profitable one. Some of the resource persons said that if the state stopped food production then there will be no benefit of the so called Food Security Act.
