Disabled people still neglected besides having various constitutional provisions

Imphal, Feb. 26: Despite having various constitutional provisions people with disabilities are still seen neglected by the concern government authority. This was stated by Rinku Khumukcham Editor Imphal Times while speaking on the closing function of the 21 day residential cricket coaching camp organised by the Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) at Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai in Imphal West.
He further said that the negligence on the part of the people with disabilities clearly seen during election time.
“None of the political parties, or candidates had ever mention anything for the welfare of the persons with disabilities in their election manifestos”, Rinku said.
18 member team including 5 official of the DDAM will be attending the 11th National Para Cricket Championship which is scheduled to be held at New Delhi from 23rd to 25th March this year. DDAM has been participating the championship for the 6th time this year.
As DDAM has been taking part the championship for continuous 6th year it is time that the concern government department consider some kind of budgetary allocation so that the players don’t face financial problem in the coming days.
The closing day function was attended by Leihaothabam Nonibala, Chairperson, Samurou Municipal Council, Hidam Ongbi Hemabati Devi, Ex- Chairperson Samurou Nagar Panchyat, Md. Anwar Councillor, Md. Anash, etc.
Speaking on the occasion General Secretary of DDAM Yunus Khan said that the association has been working hard to bring fame for the mother Manipur. He expressed gratitude to all the people who had supported the disabled people while conducting the 21 day residential camp.
