Director General of Assam Rifles visits Manipur

Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan, AVSM, SM**, Director General of Assam Rifles visited the state on 14th October to review the prevailing security, law and order situation.

The Director General along with the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Major General Alok Naresh visited the far flung field formations and interacted with troops deployed in the forward locations of the state. During the visit, the General was briefed in detail by the Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Commandant Somsai Battalion and Commandant Chassad Battalion on ground about the latest prevailing security situation and operational preparedness. He was also briefed about the efforts being undertaken for Force preservation and COVID-19 preparedness of Assam Rifles in Manipur.

The Director General expressed his satisfaction on the level of operational preparedness as well as the assistance being provided by the troops of Assam Rifles and Army during the COVID-19 pandemic. He complimented the troops for carrying out a commendable job with regards of efficiently managing the security situation in the state facing multiple challenges in difficult & inhospitable conditions and commended them for carrying out people friendly operations.
