Diabetes Detection & Awareness Camp held

Lions Club of Imphal, in association with Tiddim Road Athletics Union (TRAU) conducted a Diabetes Detection & Awareness Camp at TRAU office, Kwakeithel Bazar, Imphal in connection with “World Diabetes Day, 2022” which is observed as “One Multiple One Activity” of Lions Multiple District 322 under the theme “Knock Out Diabetes”. People from surrounding area and women vendors of Kwakeithel Bazar had diabetes test done at the Camp.
Giving an awareness message, the president of Lions Club of Imphal, Lion Dr. P. Brajamani said that diabetes has become a global epidemic and about 490 million adults are living with it and is expected to increase to 700 million by 2045. In order to prevent diabetes, one should engage in light exercise and avoid junk or readymade packed foods and instead partake fresh food, vegetables and seasonal fruits. He continued that we must have diabetes check-up done regularly, and if found to be having diabetes proper treatment for the same must be adopted without delay.
Diabetes Prevention Awareness pamphets were distributed at vendors & shopkeepers at Kwakeithel Bazar.
