DGP Rajiv Singh warns of stern action against drug offenders

Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh has warned that stringent measures will be taken against all those involved in drug-related activities in Manipur, including errant police personnel.
The DGP was addressing participants at the Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally on Monday, organised jointly by the Manipur Police Department and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The rally commenced from Hatta Kangjeibung and concluded at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
Governor of Manipur, the state’s Security Advisor Kuldeep Singh, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, and DGP Rajiv Singh jointly flagged off the event. The rally drew widespread participation, with 1,017 motorcycles taking part—137 from the police department and 880 from 18 biker clubs across the state.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign seeks to inspire citizens to proudly hoist the national flag, symbolising unity and patriotism.
Acknowledging the state’s law and order challenges, Rajiv Singh reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to tackling the escalating drug menace not only in Manipur but across the Northeast region.
