Destruction of paddy plants inside the premises of Bir Tikendrajit International Airport when the paddy was about to ripe is slowly angering the people, prompting them to take the issue with intensive agitation.
An association called Agricultural Labours’ Association, Ningombam (ALAN) has been form and after deliberation over the issue , the organization convent series of meeting and discussion and finally organised a public meeting on September 15 by maintaining social distancing SOP at Ningombam Community Hall with Ngangom Chaoba Singh in the chair.
The meeting resolved to demand adequate compensation for the paddy crops destroyed by the Airport authority which is over 100 acres and can produce over 9000 Kg of paddy. The meeting also resolved to urge the concern authority to take up appropriate action to the owners and drivers of the Tractor which they used to destroyed the paddy crops.
A 13 member committee headed by Ch. Noren Singh as President and AK Baleshware Singh as Secretary which was form in the meeting has said that if the government fails to fulfill the demands , the association will launch various agitations with likeminded organization.
