A team of City Police has picked up nine (9) volunteers of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) who has been fasting unto-death at its Keishampat HQ today at around 1.30 pm.
Demanding to implement a permit system for non-Manipuris in the state, the volunteers namely KC James of Mayang Imphal Thana Mamang; Jimbrown Achom of Singjamei Chingamathak; Leimapokpam Herojit of Thoubal Athokpam; Leishungbam Rajesh of Andro Bazar; Chanamthabam Nandita of Lairik Yengbam Leikai Khurai; Meisnam Luwangsana of Mayang Imphal Maibam Litam Makhong; Salam Surjakanta Singh of Uchiwa Wangma Mamang Leikai; Yaikhom Victoria Chanu of Yourabung Mamang Leikai and Longjam Robin Singh were on a fast-unto-death under the aegis of Reconsolidation Campaign for Implementation of Inner Line Permit in Manipur.
