Imphal, May 4: Democratic Students alliance of Manipur (DESAM) today supported the demand for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei to Scheduled Tribe category. In a press statement the DESAM said that it will support the rally organised by ST Demand committee on May 22. It said the inclusion of Meitei / Meetei to ST is a reverse shankritisation and need to be supported by one and all.
The statement further said Meetei /Meetei is now an endangered species and for the endangered community a protection is a need of the hour.
