Dept. of Posts appeals to exempt mail vans in blockades

Imphal, Dec 16: The Department of Posts has appealed civil society organizations calling economic blockade and counter blockade to relax postal mail van carrying mails to the different parts of the state.
In a press statement by Superintendent of Post Office, Manipur Postal division, on 13th Dec. 2016 the postal mail van carrying mails from lmphal to Noney was stopped by the agitators of the counter blockade at Khumbong, even though there was no destruction or damage on the postal articles.
ln the regard, the superintendent requested civil society organisations to exempt postal mail vans from all kinds of road blockades taking into consideration that the vans carry important documents and parcels, including exam materials of the students, for the people of the state.
