Imphal, June 26:
Maybe because the authority of the state government of Manipur had turned deaf ear to the plea of the people of Tousem area in Manipur, the Tousem Area Students’ Organisation (TASO) had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India urging him to intervene in the matter to make sure that people of the Tousem area do not suffer due to deplorable road condition.
In the memorandum, the Tousem area students’ organization (TASO) stated that the Tousem Headquarters road remains Kacha (Dirt) Road since the day Manipur got its statehood (1972). It also stated that the deplorable road conditions of Tousem Sub-division are widely known to all the people living in the state.
“We have addressed our anguish on several occasions in the form of memorandum and reminder but no positive steps have been taken till today from the state government”, the statement mentioned.
It however said that the Tousem inhabitants continue to grieve despite the state celebrating “GOOD GOVERNANCES” and over the vocal slogan “GO TO HILL” every year.
But then The level of dismantling fund layers by layer are some of the reasons cited for incomplete projects, it added.
The memorandum further stated that the miserable road condition is one of the main reasons why the Tousem Sub Division remains the most economically backward Sub Division in the state. The optimistic fantasy to see the positive vibe has just gone in the wind.
The student body said that the whole country has been witnessing countless remarkable impacts under your (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) true vibrant leadership.
The Students’ body requested the prime minister to kindly visit Tousem Sub Division Headquarters by road to witness the hardship of Tousem people in this rainy season.
