“Dental College, RIMS, Imphal observed World Oral Health Day”

Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director RIMS, Imphal inaugurated a week long Oral Health awareness campaign to observe World Oral Health Day, 2020 at Dental College, RIMS, Imphal today.
In connection with the observation of World Oral Health Day, Department of Public Health Dentistry organized various interactive and engaging activities to motivate good oral healthcare among OPD patients. Fruits were distributed to promote tooth friendly snacking. Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director RIMS, Imphal also inaugurated the oral health awareness booth and distributed free oral kits to the children. He also mentioned about the importance of teeth.
As a part of the programme, free dental checkup and denture camps were organized for elderly at 5 old age homes across Imphal area by Department of Public Health Dentistry in collaboration with Department of Prosthodontics of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal. However, due to the current scenario of COVID-19 across the country, the denture delivery which was scheduled in the oral health celebration week has postponed as precautionary measure in the interest of protecting the health of the elders in the homes.
The Principal in charge of Dental Collage, RIMS, Imphal, Dr. Deepak B.S emphasized that individuals should take charge of their own oral health. Faculty members, Staff Nurses and Non-Teaching Staff attended the programme.
