Demonetized Rs. 1000/- denomination of around Rs. 4 crore seized

A team of state police recovered around 4 crore demonetized Rs. 1000/- denomination from a hut at Keirao Wangkhem area today. Thoubal Police said that the demonetized Rs. 1000/- denominations are fake currency manufactured by a group of people.
The demonetized denomination of Rs. 1000/- currency note was found hidden in a locked hut at Keireo Khuman Lok in Imphal East district. The owner of the hut Chungkham Dewan Singh (50yrs.) S/o Ch. Jugindro Singh of Keirao Wangkhem, Ngarian Chingkhong Leikai, was picked up and while interrogation he revealed that the packing and binding of fake Indian Currency Notes were done along with one Chingakham Surchandra Singh (40yrs.) S/o Ch. Deben Singh of Keirao Wangkhem, Ngarian Chingkhong Leikai, Imphal East District.
Both were arrested at around 05:00 a.m. today and the police team seized the demonetized denomination.
The two also reportedly disclosed that the fake Indian Currency Notes were brought by one Tony of Keirao along with his nephew Arun of Waithou Thiyam Khunjao and handed over to them.
Why, How and for what purpose, the demonetized Rs. 1000/- currency note is being hidden is yet to be known? The three have been arrested and handed over to Irilbung Police Station along the seized demonetized currency noted for further investigation
