Delhi Meetei Coordinating Committee felicitates Indian Weightlifting team at IGI Airport

The Delhi Meetei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) warmly welcomed and felicitated the Indian Weightlifting Team upon their arrival at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, at 11:05 a.m., following their successful campaign at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The 16-member contingent, comprising 11 athletes and 5 coaches, included five distinguished weightlifters from Manipur—Mirabai Chanu, Bindiyarani Devi, Nirupama, Martina, and Rishikanta Singh—along with coach Nafisha.

DMCC extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Manipuri athletes for bringing laurels to the nation through their outstanding performances. Mirabai Chanu won a gold medal, Rishikanta Singh secured a silver medal, and Bindyarani Devi earned a bronze medal in the weightlifting competition.

Members of DMCC expressed immense pride in the achievements of the athletes and coach, stating that their success has brought great honour to both Manipur and the country. DMCC also wished them continued success in their future international competitions.
