Imphal, Mar 7:
The delayed opening of the Singjamei Urban Primary Health Centre laboratory leaves elderly patients with no foods until 10 a.m., defying doctor advice for timely blood testing, especially for fasting blood sugar checks. The situation highlights potential health risks and underscores the need for immediate attention to ensure the well-being of senior citizens seeking essential medical services.
The delayed opening of Singjamei Urban Primary Health Centre laboratory until 10 a.m. also poses a challenge for poor patients at the government health centre, especially when private laboratories open at 7 a.m.
Due to the high testing charges in the state at private laboratory clinics, poor people can’t afford the charges and choose the free testing facility given by the government. But the problem in government health centres is that the government staff, who are meant to help needy people, disrespect the time and value of poor people.
It’s unfortunate to hear about the challenges faced by poor people at government health centres. Advocating for improved services and addressing staff behaviour could contribute to a more respectful and efficient environment for everyone seeking assistance.
Government employees should know that the salary they are getting is a reward for the services they gave to the people of the state, and the money they got as a salary is the money paid as taxes by the people.
