With the issue of order of DOPT for setting up of National Recruitment Agency yesterday, and allocation of funds for setting up of more than 1000 testing centers across the country, decks are now clear for the fast implementation of this momentous reforms in public sector recruitment process. This was stated by Ng. Roben Singh, Secretary Manipur Public Service Commission at the Webinar organized by Press Information Bureau and Regional Outreach Bureau today. Roben Singh explained in detail the structure of the newly notified Agency.
In his welcome address, S N Pradhan, ADG North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the impact of NRA will be on two major aspects of the government recruitment process: transparency and inclusiveness. He said that frequent interaction of media and the implementing agencies is important for smooth transition to the new system.
Speaking on the occasion, Rinku Khumukcham, Editor Imphal Times said that it will make the life easy for all candidates across the country as they will have to commute less, apply and appear in only one exam, the score of which will be valid for three years. He said that government will have to see that the digital accessibility in the far-flung regions and rural areas is augmented. He added that government will have to assess and enhance the digital infrastructure in these areas to match it to the level that is available in more developed urban centers.
Abhishek Dayal, Director PIB Imphal said that the impact of a structured and accessible system of recruitment will be huge in the backward districts of the country as it will create a level playing field for the youth of these regions. He said that the government is aware of the need of raising the level of infrastructure across the country to create equal opportunities for all citizens.
