Deck clear for PM Modi’s visit to Manipur tomorrow; Projects worth over Rs. 8,500 Crore scheduled for foundation laying and inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Manipur on September 13, 2025, for a day-long visit during which he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate developmental projects worth more than Rs. 8,500 crore.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, the Prime Minister will first arrive at Churachandpur around 11:30 am where he will interact with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the district. At Peace Ground, Churachandpur, he will lay the foundation stones of several major infrastructural projects and address a public gathering. Later, at around 2:00 pm, he will reach Kangla in Imphal where he will again interact with IDPs, inaugurate completed projects and deliver another address to the public.
The projects for foundation stone laying, amounting to Rs. 7,344 crore, include the Manipur Urban Roads, Drainage and Asset Management Improvement Project worth Rs. 3,647 crore, the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) Project with infrastructure set up at Imphal and skilling and employment generation across the state worth Rs. 550 crore, construction of working women hostels at nine locations worth Rs. 142 crore, providing super speciality and assured speciality health care in remote and hill districts worth Rs. 105 crore, infrastructure development in and around the Polo Ground worth Rs. 30 crore, strengthening of 120 high schools and higher secondary schools across all 16 districts worth Rs. 134 crore, installation of grid connected SPV power plants at two power substations and a 5 MWAC floating SPV power plant worth Rs. 33 crore, various projects related to rural connectivity, education and tourism across Manipur worth Rs. 102 crore, construction of a multipurpose indoor stadium at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal worth Rs. 36 crore, upgradation of NH 102A Shangshak–Tengnoupal Section Package 1 worth Rs. 502 crore, upgradation of NH 102A Shangshak–Tengnoupal Section Package 3 worth Rs. 778 crore, two-laning of the Choithar to Marrem Khullen section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana Package-5 in Ukhrul worth Rs. 564 crore, two-laning of the Marrem Khullen to Jessami section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana Package-6 in Ukhrul worth Rs. 555 crore, and two-laning of the Jessami to Laynen Bridge section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana Package-7 in Ukhrul worth Rs. 165 crore.
In addition, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth Rs. 1,203 crore. These include the Manipur Bhawan at Dwarka in New Delhi worth Rs. 164 crore, the Manipur Bhawan at Salt Lake in Kolkata worth Rs. 42 crore, development of the Western River Front of Imphal River Phase-II at Imphal worth Rs. 56 crore, development of Mall Road Phase-II at Imphal worth Rs. 24 crore, the new Police Headquarters at Mantripukhri in Imphal worth Rs. 101 crore, IT-SEZ Building-I at Mantripukhri in Imphal worth Rs. 114 crore, the Civil Secretariat at Mantripukhri in Imphal worth Rs. 538 crore, Ima Markets at four locations namely Tengnoupal, Noney, Pallel and Moirang worth Rs. 24 crore, development of the Leishang Hiden Cultural and Heritage Park at Imphal West worth Rs. 13 crore, infrastructure development of five government colleges at Imphal West, Thoubal and Kakching under the College Fagathansi Mission worth Rs. 13 crore, construction of a four-lane bridge over Irang River on Imphal-Jiribam NH-37 at Noney district worth Rs. 49 crore, infrastructure creation for district administration at Kamjong district worth Rs. 15 crore, infrastructure creation for district administration at Kakching district worth Rs. 12 crore, the Eklavya Model Residential School at Tokpa village, Loktak Project in Churachandpur district worth Rs. 16 crore, construction of an institutional building with staff quarters at Ningthoukhong CHC in Bishnupur worth Rs. 7 crore, construction of an institutional building with staff quarters at Saikot CHC in Churachandpur worth Rs. 7 crore, and the construction of a hostel for paramedical and allied sciences at JNIMS, Imphal worth Rs. 6 crore.
