Imphal, Aug 21:
The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) which is committed for the welfare of the disabled community of the state this time could not organized its 15th Foundation day which falls on August 18 due to the Covid-19 restriction. Last year too, the DDAM could not celebrate its foundation day for the same reason. The DDAM main priority is to protect and safeguard the people particularly those disabled people and celebrating the foundation day is considered a risk for all people. So the DDAM instead of celebrating the foundation day had extended all possible help to the persons with disabilities during this pandemic.
DDAM pays its respect to all the disabled people and prays for their safety and welfare, a statement said.
The DDAM, understanding the problem faced by the farmers of the state during this pandemic had managed to assist the United Committee Manipur and the Covid Task Force Samurou in helping people with disabilities. On the other hand in connection with Foundation day, the DDAM distributed fertilizers to farmers in need. The DDAM in a statement thanks to the USM and the Covid Taskforce for helping disabled people at times of need.
